Vortex V8 Confirms Drivers for Barcelona

The long wait is finally over as The GT champion contender Vortex V8 confirms drivers for Barcelona in the upcoming Hankook 24H set to take place this coming September. Vortex are best known as the 24H Series overall GT Teams’ title contender and many spectators are delighted to hear that they have registered not one but two Vortex 1.0 sports cars into this great event.

The French 24H title contender team Vortex are currently ranking in second place overall in the 24H Series Overall GT Teams; standings as they are sitting on sixty points. Their sixty points positions them just nine points away of the leader that are DUWO Racing. The #701 lightweight sports car by Vortex is also holding an impressive eight-point advantage amongst the GTX-class standings over the Reiter Engineering team. This is a new record achievement for the French team Vortex as they also hold four consecutive class podiums in the opening four rounds of the 2021 season.

It has been quite a successful year already for Vortex as they already have their highest annual finish under their belt along with a successful second-class finish in Dubai along with sitting in third place from Mugello Curcuit Paul Richard.

 

As Vortex V8 confirms drivers for Barcelona it is no surprise that Nicolas Nobs and Philippe Bonnel will reappear on the roster as both drivers competed at the SP3-class victory with Vortex back in 2019 at the 24H Hankook in Dubai. Both of these team regulars will be on driver detail as they both have the experience of competing at Paul Richard and Mugello. Other Popular names that have been picked to race for Vortex are Boris Gimond and Lionel Amrouche. Gimond has recently raced at Mugello also, while Amrouche recently took part with the team in both Dubai and Mugello.

Stephane Cottrell is another driver who has been confirmed by Vortex V8 and is set to make his first start in the 24H Series since the 2019 Hankook 24H Barcelona. This event will also mark the series debut for Sebastien Lajoux and Bertrand Migout.
