VICTORY AT 24H PORTIMAO FOR LEIPERT’S BRUNOT, LI, MCGEE, MCINTOSH AND COOKE

Great teamwork and a true never-say-die attitude helped Leipert Motorsport team-mates Kerong Li, Jean-Francois Brunot, Glenn McGee, Anthony McIntosh and Tyler Cooke secure a fantastic GTX class victory in Portugal today, during a very hard-fought Hankook 24H Portimao.

Taking sixth overall at the chequered flag at the end of 24 hours of intense action under glorious Algarve skies, the No.710 Lamborghini Huracan won the GTX category 12 laps clear following late electrical issues for the rival RD Signs Lamborghini.

Starting off in perfect style in qualifying on Friday by taking the GTX class pole position, the Leipert drivers stayed in the lead battle during the early going but their challenge was impacted by a few
difficulties – including a puncture – which lost significant time and, of course, track position. Looking set to finish the twice-round-the-clock encounter in the runner-up spot after a spirited bid,
when the rival No.720 Lamborghini encountered electrical gremlins the Leipert entry re-assumed the lead with less than two hours to go and duly went on to seal a tremendous win.

Spain is next on the 24H Series powered by Hankook calendar with the 24H Barcelona set to take place over the weekend 10th/11th September.
