The Chase is Still Tight Between TCE and GT

The top three Overall TCE Teams are sitting comfortably with just four points covering the top three drivers.

At the halfway mark of this year’s 24H series powered by Hankook (with four rounds completed and another four still to go) the chase is still tight between TCE and GT as DUWO Racing leads the overall GT Teams by nine points. The top three Overall TCE Teams are also sitting comfortably with just four points covering the top three drivers. After battling it out in four races at the Hankook 12H Hockenheimring, the Luxembourg team secured their position in third place after an unfortunate issue with the breaks for Willi Motorsport by Ebimotors. They then went on to secure second place in Dubai and Paul Richard not long after. DUWO Racing also came in fourth at Mugello bringing their total up to sixty-nine points behind them ahead of the Hankook 24H Portimao scheduled for July.

Although the chase is still tight between TEC and GT (and despite some minor reliability glitches), the Vortex V8 went on to win the fourth position at Hockenheim leaving the French on a high with this record-breaking win. They also achieved third place in Mugello and Paul Richard, along with a second place win at Dubai. This means that the team has now accumulated sixty points.

Reiter Engineering were successful recently where they achieved two GTX-class wins in Paul Richard and Mugello while both KTM x-BOWs experienced some electrical issues at Hockenheim. They still managed to finish in second position. This success means that MiddleCap racing with Scuderia Praha are now leading the GT3-AM standing by seven points ahead of Car Collection Motorsport.

Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing finished in third place in Dubai after failing to get its number one Volkswagen Golf GTi on the TCR podium for the first time ever throughout its 24H Series career. The leading TCE champion has a one point advantage over CWS Engineering overall. The British team claimed TCX victory at Hankook 23H Hockenheimring recently, reclaiming their first class in in the series since 2018.

As the chase is still tight between TCE and GT the results are equally close. With four rounds still to go and numerous teams within TCE and GT each achieving top results, only time will tell us which title will take home the winning position this season.
