The Canadian team did not disappoint in their recent performance at the Hankook 12H in Hungary this month and they have certainly made their mark this season.
ST Racing takes the lead as they took their third class win of the season at the Hankook 24H. With this much deserved victory, ST Racing are now set to move into next month’s 24H Sebring at the head of the Overall GT Teams.
Although initially ST Racing led the overall GT Teams championship after their exceptional round two at Mugello; the Canadian team is now set to compete in its original endurance racing campaign this season with Creventic. Although the team experienced some wheel hub failure at Circuit Paul Richard meaning their advantage didn’t last as long as the team had hoped, their most recent achievements at Barcelona and Hungary. Not to mention a recovery podium in Hockenheim, ST Racing takes the lead and are moving comfortably into the season finale at Sebring.
With an amazing result ST racing had to work hard throughout the race as unfortunately they experienced a kerb strike that ruptured the differential mount during the 11th hour. Fortunately the ST mechanics were able to rectify the issue and ensure that the team’s BMW M4 GT4 was back out on track in record time despite still having affected repairs and losing a whopping 56 minutes in the garage.
The team co-owner and driver Samantha Tan expressed the pride she has around the team’s performance describing how they put an amazing car together and how each driver achieved exceptional pace. The crew worked extremely hard on perfecting their pit stops along with their consistency on track which totally paid off in the end. The team are now straight into preparation mode for their last race of the season at the Sebring International Raceway.
ST Racing takes the lead with this result putting them out of reach by sitting comfortably at 11 points ahead of their championship rival Vortex V8 as they both head into the inaugural Hankook 24H Sebring taking place in November.
