As we move further into 2021 the world of Motorsport is well and truly thriving more than ever. There has been multiple entries ahead of the 2022 Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi that is expected to run next January. So far twenty teams have stepped forward and registered 30 entries for the non-championship Hankook next year.
The Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi was previously held just one week after the season opening of the Hankook 24H Dubai as a trial double header formatted by Creventic. The Yas Marina Circuit had been newly modified and revamped in 2019 before hosting a non-championship six hour event last year. Prior to that the circuit holds great history as it is home to the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that ran every year since 2009. Many teams along with circuit management groups expressed a lot of positive feedback about the Yas Marina Circuit which has fast tracked this circuit into hosting the next event in early 2022.
Although there are multiple entries already ahead of the 2022 Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi, one of the more famous names to have register their place is the Car Collection Motorsport team who are confirmed for the GT field. The Car Collection Motorsport team will be one to watch as they were very recently victorious at the inaugural running of the event in 2020 and have already confirmed that there will be not one but two Audi R8 LMS GT3s making an appearance on the grid.
Another key competitor scheduled to race at the 2022 Hankook 6H Abu Dhabi is Attempto Racing who regularly compete at the Hankook 24H and have been doing so as far back as 2007. Attempto Racing performed quite well last year as they made their GT3-class return in the 24H Series after taking a break for the previous five years. They were the overall runner up at the Hankook 12H Hockenheimring. Attempto Racing have also registered two Audi R8 LM3 vehicles for Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This team has also registered their Lamborghini Huracan GT3 class for both of the endurance events in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Other key teams such as Inception Racing by Optimum and Jorgensen Storm by Century have also registered their impressive vehicles to compete at the Yas Marina circuit this coming January. With multiple entries already ahead of the 2022 Hankook 6H there are now great expectations for a very strong roster which is set to deliver a very exciting event indeed.
