Herberth Motorsport take the Win

Following a never ending battle with CP Racing, Herberth Motorsport take the win  at the 2021 Hankook 12H Hungary event securing their fourth win of the season.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R which was driven by Ralf Bohn, Alfred Renauer and Daniel Allemann and the CP Racings Mercedes-AMG GT3 car led by Joe Foster, Shane Lewis, Charles Putman and Charles Espenlaub took the restart of the race very seriously indeed. Both teams had an electric start to the race, although CP Racing soon slipped back to third place by the second corner giving Herberth Motorsport a comfortable advantage.

CP Racing quickly chose to run long when the Porsche 911 pitted for fuel. This was a decision that paid off as they soon moved quickly up to the front spot and even had the ability to extend their advantage when a well-timed Code 60 caution period lined up perfectly with the American teams first pit stop of the entire race.

For the reminder of the race both teams were now working alongside alternate refuelling strategies as they continued to constantly swap the lead throughout the afternoon. Herberth Motorsport began to demonstrate some dazzling stints at the three-quarter distance of the race which allowed the Bavarian team to pull ahead significantly.

Herberth Motorsport take the win at the end of the Hankook 12H Hungary after eventually completing a gruelling 376 laps of the 4.381km Hungaroring circuit meaning they are now drifting along nicely to their fourth victory of the season. This well-deserved win for the Bavarian team triumphed success all around as it also marked the sixth consecutive win for a Porsche in the 24H Series of 2021, a nice achievement that the entire crew are very proud of.

As Herberth Motorsport take the win, it leaves many spectators feeling very excited to see what they will have in store when they are on the racetrack next. The season finale of this year’s 24H Series powered by Hankook is scheduled to take place on the 18th, 19th and 20th of November at none other than the Sebring International Raceway in the United States of America.
