Described as classes closely mirroring the endurance classes, Britcar have announced their E series will comprise of round one at the virtual Donington Park and the second round is planned to be at the virtual Spa-Francorchamps. Subsequent rounds (and the race dates themselves) are yet to be announced; but they are all stated to be single driver, thirty minute races run on PCs. They explain their ethos on their official website as “We know nothing can replace the real thing but hopefully this will go some way towards adding as much ‘social’ into the social distancing as possible.”

These new virtual racing announcements lead on from other similar motorsport ventures during these very different times for the world. Motorsport UK have also announced a karting eSports championship too. This is in association with Alpha Live, KartSim and Motorsport Games and it will feature three different categories. The third and final category is open to all drivers (of all ages) all around the world. Drivers will be able to qualify on rFactor 2 (through Steam) – they need to be using the add-on pack called KartSim. Dan Parker, Motorsport UK kart manager, explains: ““As well as organising the pinnacle karting series in the UK, we look forward to launching a new dawn of racing through the Motorsport UK Karting Esports Championship.”
