Bas Koeten Confirms Drivers for Barcelona

Alongside Vortex V8, Bas Koeten confirms drivers for Barcelona at the upcoming Hankook 24H scheduled for September.

This is shaping up to be a very exciting weekend. Bas Koeten Racing have declared that they will race a solo CUPRA TCR vehicle at this year’s Hankook 24H in Barcelona alongside the four drivers who are now getting prepared for this event. So far this season we have seen the Dutch team Bas Koeten Racing running a new generation Porsche 992 Cup with their regular partner NKPP Racing. In addition to this, the Dutch team have also confirmed a standalone Bas Koeten Racing CUPRA TCR for the next European round which is also a part of the 24H Series in September this year.

Bas Koeten confirms drivers for Barcelona while being no stranger to TCR competition. The Dutch team have been regulars in this space as they have been a consistent touring car frontrunner since this category was introduced to the 24H series back in 2016. Within that period of time, Bas Koeten’s champion ran a Seat León TCR and a Seat León Cup Racer before they decided to make the permanent switch to the CUPRA TCR in 2018 at Silverstone.

They finished second in TCR at the 24H Dubai in 2019, therefore the September Hankook 24H Barcelona will mark their first standalone TCE division entry for the Dutch team. As Bas Koeten confirms drivers for Barcelona, three out of their four drivers will be making their driving debut at the 24H Series. Bob Stevens, Bert Mets and Jos Stevens are all set to make their exciting debut while Martin Van Den Berge will be making his first series start since the 2017 Hankook 12H Spa-Francorchamps (where he was also a part of the Bas Koeten racing team). All four drivers are also set to race in the 24H Barcelona support series, the NKHTGT by Nolte Kuchen races.

Bas Koeten confirms drivers for Barcelona wisely as they plan to continue their successful streak. The Dutch team have already achieved two category wins in the 24H Series GT division in the 911 class collaborative effort with NKPP Racing that took place in Dubai, along with another 911 entry recently at the Hankook 12H Hockenheimring. With some weeks to prepare for their debut in Barcelona, we are excited to see how it all unfolds for Bas Koeten!
